On the first and only legit snow day so far this winter I bundled the kid up and we headed out for an afternoon date - just me and him. We made our way to our local park and it was empty! You have no idea what a rarity this. Add to this the magic of a winter wonderland and we were in heaven. An entire park to ourselves and endless amounts of clean, fresh snow. Lucas dubbed it "our island" and we spent one of the best afternoons we've had in a while playing, laughing, and just being free. We came home, stripped down, and took a 3 hour nap. I'm so ready to say see ya to Winter but afternoons like these? I'll take 100 more please.
